Family-Friendly 4th of July Events in Marin and Sonoma Counties

Whether you’re looking to celebrate close to home or explore a nearby town, check out our curated list of events to make your Independence Day memorable. Marin County Events:

San Rafael

  • Marin County Fair: July 3–7, fireworks at 9:30 pm nightly. Location: Marin County Fairgrounds. More info: Marin Fair

Sausalito

  • Parade & Fireworks Extravaganza: Parade at 10 am on 2nd and Main Streets, picnic at Dunphy Park, fireworks at Gabrielson Park at 9:15 pm. More info: Sausalito

Corte Madera and Larkspur

  • 4th of July Parade & Festival: Parade starts at 10:30 am from Redwood High School to Corte Madera Town Center. Festivities at Town Park from 10:30 am–4:30 pm. More info: Corte Madera
  • American Legion's Pancake Breakfast & Gin Fizz Booth: 500 Magnolia Avenue, 7:45 am flag ceremony, breakfast from 8–11 am.

Novato

  • Buckaroo Breakfast: 7–10 am at Redwood Credit Union parking lot. Proceeds benefit Homeward Bound.
  • 4th of July Parade: 10 am to noon at Grant and Railroad Avenues. More info: Novato Parade

Ross

  • Parade & Celebration: 11 am at Ross Common, followed by a BBQ lunch, games, and music. More info: Ross

Tiburon & Angel Island

  • Fireworks Cruise: Board at 8 pm, depart at 8:30 pm from Tiburon ferry dock. Tickets required. More info: Angel Island Ferry

Inverness

  • 4th of July Festivities: Foot races for all ages from 9 am–1 pm on Inverness Way. More info: Inverness

Woodacre

  • Firefighters' Pancake Breakfast: 9 am at the Woodacre Fire Station.
  • Parade & Festivities: Parade at noon from Woodacre Improvement Club to Dickson Ranch, followed by BBQ and activities. More info: Woodacre

Mill Valley

  • Homestead Valley Picnic & Parade: Parade at 11 am from Volunteer Park to Stolte Grove, followed by a BBQ picnic. More info: Homestead Valley

 

Sonoma County Events:

Sonoma

  • Old-Fashioned 4th of July Parade: Parade at 10 am, followed by a festival on the Plaza, and fireworks at dusk. More info: Sonoma

Kenwood

  • Kenwood Hometown Parade: Parade at 7 am, followed by a pancake breakfast and family-friendly activities. More info: Kenwood

Petaluma

  • 4th of July Celebration: Fireworks at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds at 9:30 pm. More info: Petaluma
  • Stars & Stripes, Dogs & Bikes: This is a FREE family-friendly event that kicks off the 4th of July holiday and takes place at Lucchesi Park. It features food and beverage vendors, a bike parade, kids activities, a dog costume contest at noon, and MORE! Thursday July 4, 2024 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Find out more here

Healdsburg 

  • 4th of July Kids Parade and Duck Dash: kicks off its 4th of July celebrations with a kids's parade, Duck Dash races, and face painting on the plaza from 10 am–1 pm. Fireworks display starts at 9:30 pm. www.ci.healdsburg.ca.us
